Paul Hammond

Paul is a proud Hamilton Ranger from kindergarten through graduation in 2002,

standing out in goal on the soccer field and on the wrestling mat. Paul was

recognized in soccer on the All District and All League 1st teams in 2001. Over

four seasons of wrestling, Paul compiled a 74-35 record. Notably going 42-8 in his

senior season, in which he placed fourth in the state tournament. Paul earned a

soccer scholarship to Lincoln Memorial University and transferred to Kent State

his sophomore year, where he wrestled and graduated with a degree in Human

Movement Studies in 2008.

Paul's passion for wrestling has only grown. He has coached in numerous capacities,

most recently as head coach of the Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia, PA

where he grew the program and led the team to league playoffs each season and

the first league championship appearance in program history. While at

Germantown Friends School, Paul taught Physical Education classes for grades K-8

and coached soccer and baseball in addition to wrestling. It was there he met his

wife, Alison; a teacher and coach, and they began their family which includes

children Penny (5), Marley (3), and Clementine (2).

Paul would like to recognize the impact of his coaches while at Hamilton, amongst

them John Rathburn and Paul's cousin, Scott Hammond, whose mentorship

continues to support him in his career as a coach and educator. Paul and his family

are thrilled to have recently relocated to Columbus and the adventures that await

here.
