Jason Hackett

Jason, attended Hamilton Local Schools throughout this entire primary and secondary education. He earned seven varsity letters in two sports, football and wrestling. Jason made his impact as a fullback and linebacker on the Rangers football team.

He was a two-time team captain for the Rangers, and twice received first team All-league honors. Jason earned first team All-district and second team All-state recognition as a linebacker. During his senior year, he played on the 2002 Mid-State League championship team earning a spot in the state playoffs under head coach Steve Evans.

Wrestling was Jason’s favorite sport, and it showed as he held an undefeated record in both middle school years. Jason wrestled in the 171-pound weight class while in high school.

He pinned down two district championships to go along with one district runner-up finish and sectional championship. Jason also wrestled in the AAU Junior Olympics where he earned bronze and gold medals in freestyle competition.

He also made three consecutive appearances in the State Wrestling Tournament where he won the state championship in 2002 and finished third on the other two occasions.

The last tournament Jason wrestled as a Ranger, he became Hamilton’s first National Champion and ended his high school career with an overall record of 214-11.

Following his senior season, Jason was named to the 2003 ASICS High School All America Second Team for the 171 pound weight class.

Jason and his wife, Shelley are proud parents to Mason and Corinne. He currently works as a full-time Firefighter / Paramedic with Harrison Township (Teays Valley), and part-time with Jackson Township.
