George Hamric served the Hamilton Township community for 25 years as a teacher, coach, and athletic director. He was assistant football coach and head basketball coach from 1957-1956 and was head baseball coach for 24 years, from 1958 to 1982. As a baseball coach, he earned spots in both the Central District Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2000, and the State Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1988.
He also served as Athletic Director of HTHS for 17 years, and was inducted into the State Athletic Directors Hall of Fame in 1982. George is retired and resides in North Port, Florida with his wife June, where he works part time for the Texas Rangers baseball club. He also works locally part time with the Columbus Clippers and the Ohio State Red Coats. The Hamrics have three children: Joan, Michael, and Linda.
