HTHS Coach from 1989-2003
John began his career at Hamilton Local as an English Teacher in 1989. He took on the role of Athletic Director from 1996-1998. In January of 2000 until July of 2003, he was the Assistant Principal at HTHS and then became Principal until 2005. As he began his teaching career, he also became the Varsity Wrestling Coach. During his tenure, he took many student athletes and shaped them into State Champion Wrestlers. Scott Hammond, Theo Dotson, Jason Hackett, Nick Hackett, Tarry Summers…..just to name a few! John and his wife, Meredith currently reside in New Albany, Ohio. He is the Principal of Northridge Middle School. He made the switch from Principal at Westland High School so he could be available to attend his son Griffin’s athletic events. He is a Sophomore at Bishop Hartley High School where he plays Football and Wrestles. His son, Grant is currently a Junior at Baldwin Wallace University and participates in their wrestling program. Looks like John’s passion for this sport has carried over into his son’s.
