Almar Walter

Almar was a phenomenal two-sport athlete for the Hamilton Township Rangers earning varsity letters in Track and Field as well as Soccer; with athletic accomplishments that still stand in Ranger history books today. He was an accomplished soccer player who was elected team captain for the very first soccer team in Hamilton Township's history, earning four Most Value Player awards.

Every season, he led his team in scoring and earned four 1st Team All Mid-State League and two 1st team All Central District honors. He held several records in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division II Boys' Soccer for most goals in a game (7) and most goals in a career (99).

On the track, Almar was a talented multi-event runner who competed in the 100m dash, 200m dash, 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x400m relay teams. He was a dominate sprinter, and recorded the most first place finishes during his junior year campaign. As a result, he was named team captain and the Most Valuable Player.

In addition to running the fastest time ever recorded in school history in the 100m dash, he was also awarded All Mid-State League, All District, and All Ohio honors. His standout performances earned him a trip to compete in the OHSAA State Finals where he placed 6th in the 100m dash and 7th in the 200m dash. Incredible performances such as his 4.31 in the 40 yard dash still remain at the top of HTHS record books.

After graduating from Hamilton Township, Almar selected the University of Findlay as the institution to pursue his academic interests, and was also awarded an athletic scholarship for track. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Human Resource Management, a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Organizational Leadership, and a Master of Arts in Education (M.A.E.) degree from University of Findlay.

Almar is married to his beautiful wife Korie, and currently serves as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.
