Kevin Adkins

As a teen, Kevin worked for local farmer, Frank Peters and also at Scioto Downs.  After graduating from Hamilton, he was awarded a full scholarship to Ohio University.  He played football and found his college studies to be geared towards education and maybe becoming a teacher.  Unfortunately, a broken ankle in his sophomore year ended his athletic career and it brought him to work for General Motors where he stayed and retired after 30 years of employment with them.

Kevin and his wife, Tammy currently reside in Hamilton Meadows where both of their children grew up and also graduated from Hamilton Township.  Five of their six grandchildren go to Hamilton as well. Their Green & Gold runs deep…

Their daughter Kassie, is the secretary at Hamilton Intermediate and is married to Hamilton Township firefighter Thomas Ferrell.  They have five children together, Emma, Thomas, Carter, Callie and Jesse.

Their son, Kyle, is a firefighter in Grove City and is married to Megan Adkins.  They have one son, Caden and they live in Pickerington.

Kevin and his wife, Tammy have been married for 33 years and after being retired for about eight years, it was decided maybe he should go back to work.  He worked a few jobs and then ended up working as an aide with the students at Hamilton Intermediate where he loves helping them be successful. Kevin says, “ My wife tells me that I have come full circle.  I am back doing what I loved when I attended Ohio University!”
