Nathan Chau

Nathan was a three-sport athlete for the Hamilton Township High School Rangers, earning letters in football, soccer, and baseball. He was a kicker and punter for the football team and, during his senior year, helped his team make the Ohio football playoffs.

In soccer, Nathan twice earned Mid State League honors and was named an ALL District performer his senior year. As a four year starting pitcher and outfielder at HTHS, Nathan drew attention from all who were lucky enough to see him play — especially on the mound where he was almost unhittable. Nathan’s standout performances earned him three all Mid State League, two all district, and two All Ohio honors. Additionally, Nathan was named Mid State League and District Player of the Year during his senior campaign.  

After high school, Nathan attended the University of Rio Grande on a baseball scholarship. He was a four year starter on the baseball team both as an outfielder and pitcher. In 2006, Chau was named the male athlete of the year at the University of Rio Grande for being named NAIA honorable mention All-American as an outfielder. Chau is the only player in American Mideast Conference history to be named 1st team all-conference at two positions; as a pitcher and outfielder in the same season.

Nathan graduated from the University of Rio Grande with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in sports and exercise studies and a minor in health. After graduation, he served as an assistant coach for the University of Rio Grande, working with the pitchers and their mechanics. Nathan still resides in Lockbourne and is currently working at Cintas.
