Rex Hicks grew up in Cleveland and attended the Cleveland Public Schools through the 9th grade. His family moved to Lyndhurst, a suburb of Cleveland, and Rex attended Charles F. Brush High School. During high school, Rex played baseball. Rex Hicks began his teaching career at Hamilton Township on February 4, 1975. He received his undergraduate and his master’s degree from The Ohio State University. He has been married to his wife, Judy, since 1975, and they have two wonderful children, Erin and Chris. Rex and Judy have three terrific granddaughters, Sadie, Grace, and Elizabeth. Throughout his teaching career at Hamilton Township, Rex coached football for four years, softball for five years, baseball for sixteen years, wrestling for twenty-two years, and volleyball for twenty-one years. Rex has coached an astounding number of sixty-eight athletic teams at Hamilton Township High School.
