E. Rod Davisson

Rod Davisson is a 1988 graduate of Hamilton Township. While at Hamilton Township, he served as the captain of the football and track teams as well as served as President of the HTHS Student Council. Rod held the indoor pole vault record for 25 years, and, in addition to many championships, finished 6th in the pole vault in the OHSAA Regional Championships. He was a three year starting quarterback for the football team, and has more than 1,000 career passing yards.

Rod coached and served as commissioner for the Hamilton Township Football League, and also coached softball for the Hamilton Township Athletic Association. From 2004-2012, he served as the Mayor of the Village of Obetz, and, during that time, founded Obetz Athletics where he coached football and travel softball. Since its inception, nearly 10,000 children have competed in multiple Obetz Athletics programs.

Rod has coached indoor and outdoor pole vaulting at Hamilton Township High School, and his athletes have broken every boys' and girls' pole vault record, including his own. Rod has served on the boards of many charities; and, was inducted into Central Ohio's Forty Under 40 class in 2006.

He founded and organizes the Annual Hamilton Township Alumni Football Game with the proceeds benefiting the local food bank.

Rod played and coached competitive flag football for many years, and is currently nominated for induction into the Hall of Fame for the United States Flag and Touch Football League. He earned his degree in Business Administration from Franklin University, and his Law Degree from Capital University while finishing both degrees with honors. Rod lives in Obetz and his daughters Mercedes, Madison, and MacKenzie all graduated from HTHS.
